Today we are going to make the second project of the month with our kiln carving pattern. If you have already downloaded the pattern and used it for the suncatcher project, I hope you saved the cut out parts! If not, no worries, just use the stencil and cut out another set. (This is part 1 of a 2 part tutorial.)
This project was born from a discussion with my friend Brenda during the Fusing with Bottle Glass class last October. We were trying to figure out how to make an angel with a fused wine glass. After a number of tries, here it is!
Happy St. Patrick’s day! In honor of my family heritage (you did see the McRaney up there, didn’t you?), here is the free kiln carving pattern for March. This pattern is slightly more difficult to cut than the pattern for January, but still quite straightforward.
1. Cut a piece of fiber paper big enough for the pattern.
I used 1/32″ fiber paper for this particular project. Tack the pattern over the fiber paper through the black tack dots.
