This past week has been a whirlwind in the studio. I’m finishing the last push for a Glass Art in the Garden show at Red Butte Garden. The work has to be dropped off tomorrow afternoon, and my last 6 animals are fusing now.
I gave several of my glass animals a redesign for this show, the black cat with painted mica patterns is fun, I have a white cat with gold fusing now. The glass is from old light fixture covers, I’m excited to see how he turns out.
I also gave the cricket a redesign, this is version 2:
And a brand new one, I’m trying a chameleon. I have serious doubts about how many tiny pieces there are and whether they will stay together properly. I’ll let you know tomorrow!
I was also honored to donate this beautiful piece to the Friends of Great Salt Lake annual fundraising auction. They are a great organization that is doing very good education and conservation work about the Great Salt Lake
And, last but not least, this Halloween we tried something a little different and offered trick or treater’s the choice of a book or candy. I’m delighted to report that just over half of the kids chose a book! Definitely doing that again.
