Description
New mica sheet color! This pearly and beautiful mica is sheet mica that has already been fired to nearly 2000 F to drive out the organics and to turn it into a beautiful sparkly pearl color. Each package contains 5g of mica, in the largest pieces available. Each piece can be flaked into multiple thin sheets of pearl mica, it can be cut with scissors, punched with scrapbook punches, broken by hand and even crushed up into powder.
We buy our mica in bulk directly from the mine and fire all of it in house before sorting to ensure that the best pieces go straight to you!
Pearl mica has been fired to very high temperatures and as a consequence is the most fragile of all the sheet mica colors. It requires a delicate hand, and we recommend reverse grip tweezers for placing and moving the pieces. This mica will easily flake and crush into powder. Dust protection is required when reducing mica to powder.

- Use a thin snap off box knife to separate the mica layers

- Begin with sheet mica

- Slip the knife between the layers of mica

- Carefully slide knife through the mica, mind your fingers!

- If layers are still visible, repeat

- Multiple layers of mica separated from the same sheet.

- Use paper punches to create shapes if desired.

- Slide mica into the punch

- Carefully press out the mica shape.
