Description
This handy little stands are made in our shop in Salt Lake City Utah with 3Form eco resin squares and stainless steel vertical rods.
Eco resin is a proprietary product of 3Form made with up to 30% recycled materials. Through a partnership with the Restore (a Habitat for Humanity project) these materials are available to artists for all sorts of projects. We like them best as stands for glass artwork!
Each stand is 4″ x 4″ square and .3/8″ thick of a translucent yellow resin with rusted steel wire embedded into the center. The stainless steel rods are 1/8″ thick and coated with a clear heat shrink plastic to protect your artwork. The taller rods are about 1.5″ tall, and the shorter center support rod is 1/4″ tall. This rod supports your artwork a bit above the stand.
These stands are remarkably stable for the size and are recommended for artwork up to 6″ x 8″ or a 8″ circle. The stands are sized for artwork that is 1/4″ to 5/16″ thick (4-6mm) a standard fusing thickness for two layers of art glass or two layers of single strength float glass or one layer of 1/4″ float glass. The rods are quite sturdy with a little flex to firmly grip your artwork without squeezing it too tightly.
Designed with the artist in mind, these stands are low profile and unobtrusive giving the spotlight to your artwork.
The yellow of these stands is reminiscent of the yellow of camomile tea, a warm color with an abstract geometric wire pattern. These stands are unique, the pattern in each stand is different.
