It’s very difficult to find beach glass in a land locked state, so we decided to make our own. The only thing is, we made a LOT, so we decided to maybe help out other folks who don’t have access to a gigantic rock tumbler and lots of broken glass.
We start with all of the scrap glass that we generate in our shop, and everything that is donated to us, and, even an occasional piece of red glass from the thrift store. We break it all down into small pieces and tumble it for hours in our rock tumbler.
Then we wash it (twice), let it dry and package it up for your crafting pleasure. We call this mix classic because it is all of the bottle glass colors mixed together, just like you’d find on a beach. We will admit it’s heavy on blue, because who doesn’t love blue glass?
We have two sizes, Small, which are less than .5″ x 1″ square, and are perfect for jewelry and mosaic projects.
Medium size is larger, excellent for chimes, suncatchers and other crafts.
